Wikipedia No Follow

A couple good posts on Wikipedia's decision to use the "no follow" attribute: Blogscoped | Rough Type.

I tend to agree that this will have the twofold effect of making Wikipedia a bad net citizen without significantly reducing spam.

Interestingly, identity is going to play a strong role in helping to control all kinds of spam in the future (duh!) and Wikipedia is no exception. They should consider some sort of Karma system where you can only post external links after you achieve a certain (low) level of prominence - say, you're not anonymous, you've been a member for a week and edited at least one other entry.
